THE PRIORITY LIST: THE NEW, NEW YORK KNICKS

The New York Knicks are the real deal.  While their former head coach Mike D’Antoni may be the most talked about topic in the league after being selected over Phil Jackson to lead the Los Angeles Lakers, the Knicks are clearly the hottest team with their own version of ‘Showtime’ basketball.  They are the only undefeated team in the league and are off to their second 6-0 start in franchise history.  The last time they were 6-0 was when during the 1993-94 season when Pat Riley was their coach and Patrick Ewing was their leading scorer on their way to the NBA Finals.  Their 104-00 victory over the Spurs last night was impressive since it was their first win in San Antonio since 2003.  After the team was criticized for their off-season acquisitions no one can deny Jason Kidd’s 14 points and 3 blocks as a starter, Raymond Felton’s 25 points and 7 assists, and Rasheed Wallace’s 10 points off the bench.  J.R. Smith added 17 points as the sixth man and Carmelo Anthony is finally buying into being a team leader with 9 points, 12 rebounds and great distribution of the basketball.
