June 12, 2012: The ABC news camera caught LeBron James reading Jay-Z’s “Decoded” book in the locker room prior to Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The camera focus was only on LeBron for 10 seconds or less but hip-hop fans who know the shape and format of the book quickly began tweeting and posting still images of the avid reader. LeBron’s Miami Heat lost Game 1 to the Oklahoma Thunder 105-94. Somewhere Jay-Z still feels like he won. Last night’s game generated a record 11.8 rating, according to Nielsen is the highest overnight rating ever for a Game 1 on ABC.
