Q: I am a huge fan of Mobb Deep and I heard that Prodigy dropped a new album but I haven’t heard much about it. When did it come out how has it sold compared to his other albums?
A: Mobb Deep’s Prodigy released “H.N.I.C. 3” on July 3. It landed at No. 105 on the Billboard albums chart selling 4,000 copies in its first week on his own independent imprint, Infamous Records. The new album, released via his own Infamous imprint, features the likes of T.I., Wiz Khalifa and Mobb partner Havoc, as well as production from Alchemist, Sid Roams and Ty Fyffe.
Prodigy’s solo debut, “H.N.I.C.,” was released on November 14, 2000 and in the first week sold over 105,000 units debuting at No. 18 on the Billboard Magazine’s Top 200 chart. The album was certified Gold [500,000 units sold] by the RIAA on December 18, 2000. “Return of the Mac” is the second studio album from Prodigy released on March 27, 2007 through E1 Music. It came in at No. 32 on the Billboard 200 selling 27,000 copies in its first week. The album has sold 130,000 copies. “H.N.I.C. Pt. 2” sold 13,000 copies in the first week out when it was released on April 22, 2008. The album sold over 100,000 copies in the U.S.
