November 2, 2012: “It’s nothing against individuals but it just doesn’t seem the appropriate time to be having a party and flying in D.J.’s from other countries so that you can party while a lot of people do not have electricity,” said Anderson Cooper on Friday’s episode of “Anderson Live” as he spoke with Nancy Grace about a Halloween party attended by Jay-Z, Beyonce, and other celebrity guests in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. “It just seems to be the wrong thing.”
Cooper was referring to an article in The New York Post’s Page Six detailing a “lavish bash” at Cipriani42nd Street on Wednesday that included stars such Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe, Dita Von Teese, Jay-Z and Beyoncé. Guests and D.J.’s were flown in private jets to the start-studded event that cost some guests up to $10,000 a table and lasted until 6 a.m. Cooper didn’t mention Jay-Z and Beyoncé by name but issued his quote immediately after Nancy Grace gave them a shout-out.
